Poetic Postcards:
The Long Black Veil

In a collaborative project, our team interpreted a Johnny Cash song about an innocent man who was punished by death for allegedly killing another man. Although he had an alibi, he carried this secret to his grave to protect the woman he loved. We portrayed his silence through a set of six poetic postcards that when assembled created an anechoic chamber, a room of complete silence, that also doubled as his coffin. In complete silence, we still hear the sound of our hearts beating. Within the anechoic chamber, we have built a secret decoder that reveals the alibi kept secret. There is also a secret trap door that reveals a QR code that is linked to the sound of a heartbeat.
